Why Custom Frame? The Primary Reasons:
- You are not limited to standard frame sizes or styles. Any ‘custom size’ can be framed precisely and you can choose from a much larger selection of frame styles versus ‘off the rack’. (At FASTFRAME we display more than 2,000 styles in store).
- If you wish to "shadowbox" or otherwise frame a 3-D object, off the rack choices are almost non-existant.
- Most purchased frames will not protect or conserve your art, photo, or prints.
- The glass will not offer 98% UV protection as do all of ours.
- Many ready made frames are designed so that the glass lies on your photo or art, which can quickly adhere to each other.
- The backing material behind your piece is usually of uncertain origin. It can be cardboard or some other acidic material that will quickly discolor and yellow your piece.
- For standard, purchased frames, the quality is not
guaranteed.
They may be made of micro density fiber (mdf), plastic, or other material that can quickly deteriorate in anything less than ideal conditions…few of which exist in a hot, humid climate like Houston. Many are designed to be inexpensive, but can in short order ruin you important picture or print.
- Custom framing is not expensive based on the life of the piece .A custom framed piece done right will last years…you can pay a few dollars several times over to put something in a frame that may well ruin it, or spend a few dollars more and have family heirlooms that you can pass on to your children and grandchildren.
- Custom framing offers you the benefit of professional design assistance. There are many ways to display your art, photographs, prints, or memorabilia and consultation with a design professional can help you bring your vision to life.
